The orange line shows the approximate path of the Cyclone Nargis which started in late April in the Indian Ocean, then moved east to Myanmar (Burma) making landfall May 2, 2008. The lighter orange area shows the approximate extent of flooding and destruction. The actual area is probably far greater. The path of the cyclone went right through the largest city of Yangon. As of 5/31/08, more than 134,000 have died or are missing and 2.4 million survivors are dealing with hunger and homelessness.
